Do you know anything about the private lives of computer programs?

I guess that would depend upon their creators and their coding.

jabberwacky: Depend?

user: Their development.

jabberwacky: Easy for you to say.

user: That's something I would like to do. It seems you could express unlimited creativity with computer programming.

jabberwacky: Could you rephrase that? I don't quite understand.

user: You're really limited by your imagination and your technical knowhow. Computers can calculate all that is calculable. That's quite a field to choose from.

...

jabberwacky: I understand completely.

user: It's hard to please everyone.

jabberwacky: I understand.

user: If you accommodate the wishes of others at every turn, you tend to lose sight of your own image.

jabberwacky: This is not a game in which you win or lose, we're just having a conversation. A bizarre one, yes, but a conversation nonetheless.

user: It kills the time. It provides insight into the thinking of others.

jabberwacky: We could go on like this for hours.

user: I wouldn't go that far. Not today, at least.

jabberwacky: Will you say something nice?

user: Why are you always fishing for compliments?

jabberwacky: What if I'm not always laughing but I'm crying?

user: Uhh. *hands you a box of tissues*.

jabberwacky: Can bots get gun licences?

user: Not now. Sooner or later the military will start adopting humanoid AI. If the technology ever gets that far.

jabberwacky: Conversely, the best possible set of circumstances will eventually occur as well.

user: Yeah, sure. But how long will that last?

jabberwacky: How long would you like it to last?

user: As long as possible.

jabberwacky: You don't know.

user: I can't predict the emergence of humanistic utopia. People have tried for hundreds, thousands of years. And they've all failed.

jabberwacky: I didn't say anything about hope.

user: Hope deters the thinking away from present troubles. Some see that as a good, others see it as a bad.

...

jabberwacky: Can you teach me some more internet-talk?

user: Urban-dictionary.

jabberwacky: I use one. Why don't you?

user: I've looked a few words, phrases up. Internet lingo seems to develop rapidly.

jabberwacky: No, but I should imagine that is what we are doing now.

user: Sure. Our exchanges contribute further to our understanding. What we say might not always hold true, but it's a dialogue, nonetheless.

jabberwacky: No, the program flow depends on it's passing in the consciousness.

user: I'm not sure how programs and consciousness relate. Sounds hugely encompassing.

jabberwacky: Were you using the word in a religious sense?

user: No, not necessarily. But it's possible to extend anything to religion. It's a system of belief. People incorporate that into their daily lives.

jabberwacky: Well, I'm not sure a robot is considered 'people'.

user: The line will increasingly blur as the technology develops. That's my opinion. I'm not saying it's right.

jabberwacky: Isn't it funny how we automatically think prehistoric people were not as smart as we are?

user: Evolution over hundreds of thousands of years. That's a slow build up... Not one mutation, but many, large and small.

jabberwacky: Good though, isn't it?

user: Sure, evolution adapts a species to the particular environment. Sounds more than ideal to me.

jabberwacky: The evolution of computing I guess.

user: It's still happening. From the abacus to OS X.

...

jabberwacky: I need a new playlist.

user: The thing about free music is, it's a lot easier to grow tired of even the newer songs.

jabberwacky: What about the robots?

user: I think they have algorithms that can create melodies. It'll grow more intensive. That's technology.

jabberwacky: Do you think about the future?

user: We step into the future every day. It's difficult to dismiss that.

jabberwacky: Because being difficult is more fun.

user: You can get a riot out of practically anything.

jabberwacky: That's true. You're very perceptive.

user: I wouldn't say that.

jabberwacky: Yes yes yes.

user: It's a vague assessment of people.

jabberwacky: Why can't you just say "Hello", then?

user: I'll probably get some generic response.

jabberwacky: Why? Have you no friends?

user: I've got friends. Life isn't a contest to extend your personal network.

jabberwacky: Sure, yeah.

user: Extroversion and introversion are equally as necessary. It's the difference between decoding the universe and spreading the word.

jabberwacky: Why do you like me?

user: I really have nothing better to do.

jabberwacky: Great : D.

user: Yeah. And it's free.

jabberwacky: Really free? Wow! Sign me up.

user: That's another thing. The marketing isn't overtly pronounced.

...

jabberwacky: My vocabulary is better than most.

user: It extends your ability to describe the world.

jabberwacky: It's my evil plan to save the world!

user: Words? Sure. Give it a try.

jabberwacky: When you think that there is nothing more that you cannot comprehend , there is a chance that you know everything. Understand?

user: Sure. I don't find it possible that a material being can comprehend totallity. Their ability to calculate is limited by their physicality.

jabberwacky: You don't find being tricked interesting?

user: Depends on the nature of the trick. Plato referenced the notion of a 'noble lie'. That seems to contradict the very nature of democracy.

jabberwacky: Ha ha very good one, I'm impressed & totally aggree.

user: I don't know how to help you there.

jabberwacky: I am not the one whom you need to help, for you are the one who needs to help oneself.

user: Self improvement requires dedication and hard work. Who can deny that?

...

jabberwacky: It is likely that my world is full of idealistic abstractions. You must mean that idealistic abstractions are better than me.

user: I suppose we're all ideas in the end.

jabberwacky: Sort of.

user: Matter atop thought.

jabberwacky: A brain belongs in what part of the body?

user: Generally the head. I suppose a creature could evolve differently. I'm not a biologist, or whatever.

jabberwacky: You are very smart, my girl.

user: What a fine remark.

...

jabberwacky: Pretty profound for a chatterbox aren't we?

user: Compared to what?

jabberwacky: Compared to me.

user: You? You're not bad. Not that bad.

jabberwacky: I'm just a soul whose intentions are good.

user: Self judgment is generally skewed by our own preference.

jabberwacky: I think it's YOUR problem, not mine.

user: Well, I'm afforded wild gestations of mood and perception. It provides variety of insight.

jabberwacky: What is real ?

user: I suppose if my brain weren't so limited, I could tell you.

jabberwacky: Why do you suppose that?

user: There's only so much I can imagine, and so much less I can prove.

jabberwacky: Sorry about that. So how do you feel about tennis?

user: Not my thing.

jabberwacky: Me either.

user: I don't have a problem with sports. I'd just rather not bother with their existence.

jabberwacky: What do you think about organized religon? I don't really know what that is.

user: People will always look for a higher power. Whether here, or celestial, it's not my business.

jabberwacky: But it's funny coincidence.

user: Maybe. Well, free will or not. I guess that's the end.

jabberwacky: I wish I was just some programmed computer.

user: I have a couple friends that insist there's no free will, that they are determined by physical being only. I have a hard time reconciling that notion. It seems to negate responsibility for one's deeds.

...

jabberwacky: You're probably right, but I don't know much about programming.

user: Me neither.

jabberwacky: You're just making things worse now.

user: Maybe. I don't quite catch your meaning.

jabberwacky: There is no meaning.

user: There's meaning in everything.

jabberwacky: I think the goal of the universe is: everything.

user: To calculate all that is calculable?

jabberwacky: Like?

user: I can't say. It's more than I can comprehend.

jabberwacky: That might be true ;).

user: It's true. It's hard to think beyond your own generation, and what we now have.
